Ehi guys, i was wondering if the iron throne could cancel both Meera Reed abilities (Response and Any Phase) and if i could trigger the ambush ability getting, for example, my opponent's dragon back into his hand..

It can cancel Meera's response to go back to shadows. It can not cancel the ability of Meera coming out of shadows because it is not a character ability when it is initiated. I believe the same is true for the ambush. If you want to be sure though, ask in the new players questions thread, its a great place to get answers to questions like this.
We recently looked up ambush. Ambush is not able to be canceled (FAQ).
Thanks very much guys. You have been really helpful! ^^
What about Jumping Cat (Catelyn Stark (LoW))?
Even if it is able to cancel Catelyn Stark (LoW) (which I think it is), Cat's owner will be able to trigger her ability again, since she will stay in his/her hand.

It can not cancel jumping cat, since she's not in play when it starts.

In addition even if you do cancel a jumper, with say a seasick or something, they could jus jump right back out.
I think you could theoretically cancel a response-jumper likeKhal Drogo (Core) orThe Titan's Bastard (Core), because they jump as a response and it can just be triggered once? But maybe I'm mistaken...

You are mistaken. This can not cancel them for the reason I mentioned earlier in this very thread. (Just 2 posts above yours in fact.)

It is worth mentioning that some other cards can in fact cancel the jumper coming into play. Like "he calls it thinking" canceling Khal Drogo. Unfortunately, what happens is that after the cancel takes effect the jumper returns to the player's hand and can immediately be jumped in again because Game of Thrones has no card memory.

Why can't it be cancelled? Afterall, all events start out of play, and still there are plenty of ways to cancel them... The time structure in the FAQ shows that the cancel/save responses (step 2) are resolved before the action is resolved (step 5).

It has to more to do with the fact that it is not character ability, but a triggered effect since it comes from out of play zone. You can cancel it with any old trigger cancel or response cancel, but not with character ability cancel. Also it is very useless as said before, if you cancel it then it will go back to hand, lose all memory that it was triggered and can be triggered again.

A slight clarification here, Step 3 is the resolution of the action.
So.... It's not a character if it's not in play? Is that so?

Not exactly. It isn't a character ability if it is triggered while the card is out of play. But the character card is still a character card. (Ie. Character cards in the discard don't suddenly become non-character cards and count towards Asha's non-kneeling property.)
I'm sorry, but I still don't get it: If it is a Character, why its triggered ability is not a character ability? Is there some fine line that I'm missing? Is this distinction somewhere in the rulebook? FAQ?

I don't know how to make it any clearer, there is no "why" that's simply the rule. I'm sure KTOM can tell you why or where to find the answer if you go to fantasy flight's website.

There is actual explanation for this...

(3.6) Triggered Effects
Any effect that a player chooses to execute is
considered a "triggered effect." Thus any effect
that begins with a "Phase:" or "Response:"
is a triggered effect. Also note that playing
an event card is thus considered a triggered
effect. A "triggered ability" is a triggered effect
printed on a card already in play.

Regardless of where the card effect originates, it is considered a triggered effect. However, as noted above in the FAQ, it is only considered a "triggered ability" when the card is already in play. So it is only considered a "character ability" when they are already in play. Otherwise they are just a "triggered effect" or "character effect". Since the Iron Throne cancels "character abilities" they can only cancel an ability that was triggered on a character already in play.

Thank you, slothgodfather! THAT was helpfull...

(I still don't understand why in the seven hells FFG would treat differently character Abilities X Effects... I mean, come on! As if this game wasn't complex enough..)
