I just realized: With Karhold Rookery, you get to search more cards. With Galbart Glover, you can actually search your discard pile. Is there such a thing as a deck that discards a bunch of its own characters, only to search them next turn and replay them? Probably, but probably not worth attempting to build. This might be an interesting strategy with Westeros Bleeds, for example. What's even more interesting is that this card is not Stark-only, which means it can be used in a Martell Alliance Stark deck to get the extra influence off the Martell characters.

If I add 5 Tully cards to my hand (no other effects) do I still shuffle?

Yes. You shuffle after every search.
