Yes, that means even your own characters. This is a really nasty surprise when it shows up.

I think Reager meant to ask if "all participating characters" referred to "all characters participating in the current challenge". And yes, it does.

Yes I found it weird that they didn't specify it since they always do, just wanted to be sure. The card's art is awesome btw

Well the only way they are "participating" in a challenge is if there is one already started. Since there is a player action before stealth and defenders are declared, you could play this card then and only hit the current attackers. Or wait until stealth & defenders are declared (and therefor participating) and play it as your next player action to burn everyone.

To be Summer, there has to be a card in play that makes it summer. There's a few good ones, with Black Raven (ASoS) being the most popular, but Crown of Meereen (QoD) works too (and comes in the same pack as Field of Fire.

And just to clarify, if there's no card in play stating that it's Summer, then it isn't Summer. There's a similar effect called Winter, and the same applies to that too.
