Great in a Knights of the Realm deck.   Or would be if it weren't for the fact that that deck needs Knights, not allies.

You may want to rethink your caveat, given how few options there are for cheap intrigue icons in a Bara KotR deck.

I'll stick to Higharden Squire.  Nowhere near as strong, but can grant the Icon to someone else if needed and can't be Dissension'ed away on a whim.  If Camp Follower didn't have the Ally trait, then she'd be the better choice but as it stands, I'm not convinced.

Camp follower costs you 1 gold. If someone uses dissension to discard it, they have essentially spent 1 card for your 1g.

Since the general understanding is that 1 card is worth about 2 g, I wouldn't be very worried about it.

I know you have already spent 1 card too, but, unless Camp Follower gets discarded right away, your card at least was useful for you in some challenges/dom before you lost it.

Oh and with just 2 knights out, this character can defend and win agains Spy from Starfall and Ashemark Councilor, which Highgarden Squire can't accomplish.

I have to agree with Alaka here, I've been running Camp follower in my knights deck and she is great. Granted she's a prime target for ally hate, which is pretty common in the meta right now but it seems like its grown a little less ubiquitous lately (at least in my play group). But overall I have to say she is worth the risk, with three knights (which is pretty common in a KotR deck if you have hedge knights) camp follower becomes a four strength character with baratheon's least common icon. She stops lannister and Martell from pushing through an intrigue challenge with a single refugee and ultimately can give that little push to swing the game. Plus great for set-up.
