The ability is good, but... only int icon? Really?
It's the only challenge a Martell don't want to lose...
You can loose it also when you attack.
Especially with Dornish Paramour to make sure you lose it.
Exactly. I like this little bugger, it offers so many opportunities for a Martell player. Putting an opponent on the horns of the dilemma is exactly how Martell should be played. And this card fits in this doctrine.
You can attack with him alone and your opponent has 2 bad choices to make: rather loose an attachment (+some delicatessen from other Martell "I lost a challenge" stuff) or discard, risk Tears + most likely giving Martell 1 power for unopposed.
i concur.
A technical (newbie) question: if i lose in the int challenge with Maester of Sunspear and the only attachment in play is a negative attachment from me on my opponent's character, i still have to remove it right?
Nope, reaction is not mandatory but optional. You can choose not to trigger it. The situation you describe however can happen with Confiscation plot.
