What is there to say? Good on any knight but Loras is the obvious A+ choice. Knight of Flowers + Mare in Heat is unstoppable unless your opponent is running some kind of shenanigans. And it frees up Highgarden for other challenges.

Add in Lady Sansa's Rose and it goes bonkers.

Or just any Knight really. Even a crappy Arbor knight it can be deadly when used with Jousting Tournament!

You could use your own strength buffs on an opponents defending character to get their STR higher than the attached characters just so they become eligible as a target for this effect.  If there are multiple defenders or you are in need of getting the challenge unopposed or need to meet a "win by X" condition, that could be something to consider.

Another idea is to use a burn effect against your own attached character so you can get their STR low enough to use the attachment.

The above would probably be very specific situations, but might be some ideas you could take advantage of on your feet.

I totally had not considered that.

Mind = blown.

What happens if this attachment is attached to a character with the Knight attachment but loses the Knighted attachment later? Does the Mare in Heat have to be removed as well since it's attached to a NON-Knight unit?

(edited)

Nevermind, Pg.3

"If a situaton arises in which an attachment is not legally attached, discard the attachment"

So I can remove a Knighted and then they have to discard Mare in Heat as well?

Assuming they didn't already have the Knight trait, that is correct.

This is I think one of the key reasons why all of the character blanking abilities have not affected traits (and I hope they never will).

what happens if a non-king char with mare in heat attached meets someone like robb stark (Across the Seven Kingdoms). which remove-a-char-from-challenge effect triggers 1st?

The one which is triggered first is triggered first. The second cannot even trigger. This in every action window the first player gets first action. So they can trigger their ability first. The second player assuming they can't stop it can no longer trigger theirs. Also these are both optional abilities. The Tyrell player may if attacking actually want the opponent to kneel their Robb stark to defend and stand and remove their character with mare in heat so they can use it in a different challenge.

in this case the attacker (either stark or tyrell) is the one to chose whether he/she wants to trigger the ability. if not, the defender decide to trigger the ability. or is 1st player meant as the one who won initiative with plot card no matter what he/she is attacker/defender?

Those are both "Actions" which means are triggered only in "Action windows". During each Action window, 1st player has the option to initiate the actions 1st. (Rules Reference p.24).
