It is entertaining to see the deck limit being introduced already for a card outside the normal amount allowed in a deck.  It will be curious to see what other powerful cards will come with this limitation attached to them.

This has to be the weirdest card in the game. Why give the King trait to something? Thematically/flavor-wise it's pretty great though.

Well, if you are playing as Targ/Stag, you could play Crown of Gold on an opponent's character that has 5 strength or more and then all your copies of King's Hunting Party would have intrigue icons! :)

Flavour, pretty much. Unless you have some sort of super combo of giving a 5str character the King trait to boost something else.

I don't think we have know the full potential of this card at the moment. At the current state it is basically a 4th Dracarys! that is easier to apply and last longer but down the road you might play this on your own characters just for the King trait.

Had my first encounter with this card today.

Pay 3 (in a Fealty deck) to kill a character outright at 5 STR or less (with Dany out)?  Just....no.

It's a terrible feeling being at the mercy of an auto-kill card you can do nothing about.  I love the emphasis on the challenge phase in 2ed--don't muck it up by bringing more cards like this into the game.  I also hate dracarys, but at least there's an opportunity to play around it or cancel.

I'm confused. This is an attachment without Ambush. It would have to be marshaled on your 5 STR character in the marshaling phase. So why would you declare it as an attacker or defender while Dany was standing in the challenge phase? You have complete control over whether or not Dany gives it the final -1. Sure, it takes the character out of the challenge, but that's not the same as killing it outright, and in the meantime, you have the chance to play around it by removing the attachment.

Sorry ktom, it was an auto-kill of Tyrion.  Forgot -1 from Dany was dependent on challenge.

If they had an intrigue icon, you could get a delayed autokill of a str 5 character with Paramour and Dany together.

Or, for in general less work, Plaza of Punishment could be the finishing blow.

Used Targ today for a store championship. Didn't see this card once - except the 1 time I faced Targ and had it used on my Nymeria turn 1.

Nope, Plaza can't be the finishing blow - "without attachments", remember?

I always forget that clause!

Paramours for the win then!

Until Forever Burning returns. I certainly hope so. Great event without being broken.
