Well, Eddard might not care so much, often Stark players use jazz hands anyway!
Add Jaime and Dany to your list. Especially Dany is funny, since it negates her insight almost completely.
What happens first, trigger Motley or trigger Winterfell (triggers when challenge is initiated)? From the Rules it appears that the challenge is initiated before characters kneel, but I just wanted to make sure.
It depends on who first player is. The Reaction window for initiating challenges, declaring attackers, and choosing stealth targets is the same for each.
For some reason I thought this was a reaction to kneeling, not to declaring as an attacker or defender, my bad. So it just comes down to first player priority. At least it's good that you can cheat the effect with Wardens of the North or the Kennel Master.
Does Motley work on core Catelyn? Or is she already considered to be participating when you react to her being declared?
She's already participating, so if this is attached to her, it won't be able to be triggered.
if multiple motleys are attached to the same character do they discard for each copy on them or does the effect only happen once to the character?
You can trigger multiple copies from same reaction. Very nasty card indeed
