Preplot actions with this may have made BMR playable... Oh well.
In any deck packing a decent number of events this is as good as a faction reducer, albeit 1 cost and not limited. I'd definitely consider it in any deck running 3x Hand's Judgement as it extends the range (make sure you kneel this as your first action in challenges, and obviously if you are 2nd player it helps a little less), and any Fealty deck with 2 cost loyal events.
I'm not normally a fan of 1x cards, but this has the feel of one to me.
This card is amazing for some decks. It means that SO many non-loyal events and non-Fealty decks now have the bluffing/surprise ability that Fealty decks have enjoyed since the core was released.
For some decks, this is a 1g, non-Limited Roseroad. Good for setup, good for bluffing, good for consistency, just all around good. I love it. It doesn't "do" anything to impact the board immediately, but setting this up along with any other econ takes a lot of pressure off the marshaling phase.
How does this interact with The Hand's Judgement?
It doesn't. The Hand's Judgment sets its own cost to the printed cost of the event being canceled. Tourney Grounds doesn't affect the printed cost of an event in any way. So, if you use this card to play a 1-cost event for 0, THJ would still cost an opponent 1.
No, I get that. I was referring to the effect of Tourney Grounds to pay for THJ. Example: In challenges phase, I use Tourney Grounds. Then my opponent plays Put to the Sword, after winning a military challenge by 5. How much gold do I pay to cancel? I'm thinking 1 gold.
Yes, same as paxter redwyne. It was already covered here http://www.cardgamed...tourney-ground/
Ok, nice. Hadn't actually seen that. Thanks!
