Small Target

Small Target
Type: Event Sphere: Spirit

Response: After a Hobbit hero you control exhausts to defend an attack, choose another enemy engaged with you and reveal the attacking enemy's shadow card. If that shadow card has no shadow effect, resolve this enemy's attack against the chosen enemy. If that shadow card has a shadow effect, resolve the attack as normal.

I really like this design - powerfull efect with big downside. Anybody tried to make a deck around this card? I am thinking about hobbit support deck Merry (Spirit) + Frodo + Pipin (Lore). It could use Dark Knowledge or Silver Lamp to target the right enemy.

I think I would choose Tactics Merry over Spirit Merry to design a deck using this card. Then you would have access to Feint, which would help with engaging two enemies because you would only have to block one attack. Also, with daggers, Merry hits pretty hard. If you are playing solo one-handed, you want a defender (Frodo), an attacker (Merry) and a quester (all hobbits combined for 6 will). With Unexpected Courage and Hobbit Pony, you can send all the hobbits on questing. You might consider Spirit Pippin as well. With him you would be using two spheres still and you could send an enemy back to the staging area in case of an emergency. You can get card draw from the pipe cards maybe, especially if you add ally Bilbo to pull them out for you.

Thanks for the answer. At first glance I didn't notice that the other enemy must be engaged with you as well. As you said, this pretty much requires tactics in the deck. I was thinking about tactics Aragorn or Halbarad to make sure I will have more than one enemy on me. This deck would also need some reliable shadow peaking or cancelation. Balin maybe? Would Small Target even work with him?

I've wondered the interaction there since most cards that do something like this say "facedown" shadow card. Not sure if a card that's faceup can be "revealed."
