I know most of you guys seem to rate this new glorfindel with 5 stars.
but i am not sure yet. yes he is spirit so he has access to the strongest sphere, yes he has very good stats and he has a very, very low threat (that his point) and he is illustrated by wonderfull magali....
but: he is the only hero in game (so far) that has a disadvantage instead of an advantage. and this is the reason i am still not completly sold on this guy.
his ability impact is minimal compared to the rest of what he gives, and you don't need to use him necessarily for questing since he has 3 on attack as well. And once you get Light of Valinor (FoS) on him then say goodbye to his ability

I agree with Malagrun. The best benefit from most heroes are not their stats, it is their special abilities.
His disadvantage far outweighs the advantage. I think you just made the argument for him, in solo play at least. Do I think that there are better heroes insofar as multiplayer? Maybe. But in solo play, he is one of the strongest heroes.
I feel that with such a low threat, having a small (easily negated) disadvantage still makes him a great card. Seriously- five threat to start?

While his "ability" is a disadvantage, his real advantage is the (up to) 7 threat discount you get from turn one.
Aragorn (TWitW) also gives you a (even bigger) threat advantage, but mostly late in the game (and he doesn't have a "real" ability either, does he?)
I'm not quite sure about his disadvantages in multiplayer. When playing with a companion lore deck he's liable to get increased card draw which will land him that light of valinor more quickly. Not to mention Asfaloth. His ability is the gateway to three hero secrecy decks as well. Our spirit player plays him, Eowyn, and Elanor for a starting threat of 20 or 21.(Can't remember exactly)

As a spirit player, I tended to fear the First-Player-Token. Not anymore with Glorfindel! During the first few rounds, it is nearly impossible get unwanted attacks with such a low threat (21 with Eowyn+Eleanor, 23 with Eowyn+Dwalin for even more power and threat management).
Low threat early on also allows for better use of "Wandering Took"+"Song of Earendil". I love him!
New Glorifindel is extremaly powerful hero. In my opinion he is unfare. Too much powerful. Yes in solo game he give you opportunity to win agianst some quest like Dol-Guldor and make very interesting choices of deck building but in coop game he is extremaly powerful and looks like a cheating. I dont even talk about Asfaloth and LIght of Valinor +Elrond Councel combo.
With Light of Valinor (FoS) he quests at 3, then attacks at 3. He has 5 hit points, so he can take most undefended attacks with confidence, if it comes to that. There is no negative on this guy.

One of my three favorite heros, and the entire reason I bought Foundation of Stone. A amazing Solo player hero.
This guy's stats are so amazing! Probably my new favourite hero. + his horse and light of Valinor... well, he seems to have been created to rule the game.

 Glorfindel does not have to exhaust to quest? That is confusing to me as his card says, "After Glorfindel exhausts to commit to a quest raise his threat by 1" . Does the threat raise cancel his being exhaust or does it ready him. What am I missing here?

Bodasafa - He does exhaust to quest.  I believe you are missing that his ability is purely a disadvantage to offset his crazy low starting threat.
