Ravens of the mountain is good combo with him, now there is even more reasons to use that card
I also like hes 2 WP, 4/5 ally
Fantastic ally, great stats, one of the best allies in the Dwarrowdelf cycle. If running Dwarves i always take 3 of these, and even in some none Dwarf decks. I also love the artwork on this card and very reasonably costed too.
Clarification question: If he is the first to be committed to the quest, does his ability trigger immediately, thus allowing a peak before you finish committing other characters? Or does it trigger after ALL have been picked?
I'm pretty sure that players commit characters to the quest in turn, but a player commits all of his guys at once. So if you have 3 of these, you exhaust all your guys you plan to send to this quest. Then do responses to that action. So you trigger the first one, and if it hits, you can go ahead and trigger the other 2 responses. Otherwise, since they are optional, you just don't trigger them.
Rules Say: "Players commit characters to the quest as a team". Which I interpret as "All at once".
You could use Grappling Hook or Late Adventurer to add more questers later.
