I think people underestimate the utility of this card. If they don't have a "killer" icebreaker (or a utility one like Crypsis) or you catch them running with no credits available, you can kill a program and end that run. And it isn't that expensive to rez.

Think I´d rather run archer. Rez cost is the same and you get more strenght and more sub-routines
Rez cost isn't exactly the same. Trashing an agenda is a pretty big deal.

This card is great, especially since emergency shutdown destroys archer so badly

I've always preferred Ichi. It has 1 more subroutine and 4 more strength for only a cost increase of 1. I think in practice though, Rototurret may be better in HB as a surprise card. Most smart runners don't run on un-rezzed HB ICE without some clicks available unless they are already desperate (which means things are going your way with or without Ichi). I've had too many times where I've let runners past an unrezzed Ichi because they had clicks and it wasn't worth 5 credits to make them burn them. If it had simply been a Rototurret, I would have trashed a program and ended the run, all for 1 less credit.

Sure, this hates parasite. Aside from that, even after the surprise factor is gone, this will still cost 2 (likely) credits for the runner to get past after they have their rig built up.

Outside of HB, Ichi may be more fun to splash, because you're more likely to catch the runner without clicks to spare.

I prefer Rototurret before than Ichi because is more useful having ETR subroutine. Any ICE hates parasite, which not except Lotus Field?

Outside of HB Rototurret is better than Ichi for it takes 1 influence less. I usually do not like so much ICE without ETR subroutine in fact.

I used to play Ichi but I get tired to see how Ichi's subroutines were broken over and over by clics or credits. The third subroutine of Ichi is so bad for me at least.

Rototurret is cheaper and the surprise factor is amazing because it could force to the Runner to install an icebreaker for sentry ICE firstly, if he or she can not do that for a while the Corp gain time to develop his or her game as he or she wants. And two credits to pass the Rototurret is not bad after all when the surprise is gone.

Oh, I agree. The runner will always find a target for Parasite.
