Another cool ICE for NBN that I'll be splashing to other factions. Seems like it would be good on R&D/HQ.

A bit low-end for my taste. Does pair great with
ChiLo City Grid though

How so? Pop-up windows have no traces (?)

oh quite right you are. Don´t know how my mind managed to convince me it did
Guess it´s a bit so so for me then
Great card. It gives NBN some economy game for 0 and, some serious options against early inside jobs.

Nerdmeister, I was initially confused by your first comment, because it is true that both Pop-up Window and ChiLo City Grid work automatically (an NBN trait with Data Raven, MA, Tollbooth, etc.).

Anyway, I think this is a fantastic card... for NBN.
Works great with matrix analyzer just behind. Free credit, advance during run effect, yay ! :D

I'm a little lost with the caption. Why does Chaos Theory dares people to close it?

Because in real life pop-ups often have malicious code that execute when the close() function is called? I'm assuming that's what they're referencing.

That sounds about right. But it's an ice. Why would Chaos Theory help a corp?
This would work well with Edge of World

Maybe chaos theory wrote it and it got stolen by some corp :P
One cash is not much, 1 lost on runner not much gain, but i like how this can be used for bluffs, cant be broken (unless you use Femme fatale :P) and scales with how much runner runs you - the more compromised your server is the more cash you'll get, a really nice dynamic, especially against Criminal who loves to run often and get cash of it.
She's saying that out of frustration. Like, it pops up onto her screen and she gets frustrated, and someone asks her "why don't you just close it?" and she responds with that.
I'm adding this to my Jinteki: Replicating Perfection deck. Slap it in front of the Central servers and let the runner pay me to look at my remote servers. If I'm lucky it will rob him of the money he needs to get past the remote server ice. If I'm really lucky he won't have any cash to remove a tag from Data Raven.

That sounds about right. But it's an ice. Why would Chaos Theory help a corp?

It's not Chaos Theory helping the Corporation. A lot of the flavour text on Corporation cards comes from Runners. Take a look at Sunset, too. This flavour text is meant to show the curiosity of the Shapers. Chaos Theory closed it just to see what it does. She's urging others to appease their curiosity.
Cool, that makes sense.

I read it more like Chaos Theory daring another Runner to close it. Not that she had done it herself and certainly not out of curiosity.

I was doubtful on this ICE but it has been really good. Gaining credits and stoping runs occasionally.
I run nbn most of the time and I really like the idea of this, put it on a central server and make cash, or drop it in front of pad campaign or marked accounts and they become almost not worth the runner accessing, especially paired with encryption protocol, that would mean the corp took 1 cred and the runner spend 6 to get rid of a pad campaign!

I really want to like this card: it's NBN econ, it's NBN ice, and the flavor is amazing. But in practice, it doesn't help me that much. As econ, it's only as reliable as the runner, and mostly just makes me pay more for ice installation costs on central servers. As ice, it's just not punchy enough for either end game or early game - wasting a runner credit for little corp investment is nice, but is it worth a spot in your deck when other "real" ice can waste many more credits or realistically stop runs?

It is really good for the price. I'm just not convinced I like diluting the rest of my deck with "good for the price" cards, when I could have good cards...

Love this ICE. Great as a first turn free ICE that makes the runner pay (literally) to make otherwise unprotected runs. Simply install ICE over it later in the game.

If you get it mid/late game, it is always good for protecting PAD campaign or other economy Asset.
This is a great card. It's as cheap as ice gets, which makes it ideal for protecting against Inside Run early game. It pays for its position in a multiple iced server if the Runner makes any runs against it. And as MagisterWrigley said, it's useful for protecting PAD Campaigns or other cards where you're not interested in stopping the Runner as much as you are interested in making her pay more for trashing your assets.

I like to think of it as fire and forget ICE you don't have to save creds to res it as an added bonus early game it can discourage 'naked runs' on your centrals without having to even res it.

awesome card! at first it doesn't seem like much, but over time the +1 -1  effect will give the corp a late game advantage. Without it I would have lost a few games. With rsvp it becomes an end run, over remotes assets cost plus one to trash (marked accounts + pop-up= -6 creds to runner + 1 to corp). With a toll booth, pop up window, and NAPD contracts, it takes gordian blade 12 credits to steal and you gain 1. This ice is amazing.
