While I agree this card is a huge boost to Shapers, both in power level and viable strategies, I don't think any runner faction was strictly better or worse than the others before FutureProof, and I don't think that has changed. One card especially can't do such a power shift, unless the card is broken, which this is not. It's just really good.

Maker's eye is non renewable, i feel like it was sufficient some of the time but not all the time. R&D Interface and Deep Thought are more reliable though probably lacking Maker's Eye raw accessing power.
R&D interface is just ridiculous at two influence. This should be at 3 or maybe even 4. Shapers needed the buff, but this is way too splashable.
It can't be trashed easily, it doesn't take MU and the fact that it's not unique makes it even more baffling.
Take how many times the runner runs on R&D in a normal game and half that. With only ONE R&D Interface. Between this, Account Siphon and Sneakdoor Beta Criminal can out insane pressure on any of your centrals for 6 influence. I don't like that one bit.

True. I just wanted to point out that Shapers had a way to pressure R&D before. But I have to agree that R&D interface is stronger especially with replikate decks/combo with Inside job etc.

One advantage for Maker's eye is that it comes out of nowhere. R&D interface takes larger investment and time which gives the corp time to ICE up.
It's good, but I'm not sure it boosts overall Runner power all that much, given that Medium was already in the mix. Yes, Medium takes an MU, but it had the critical advantage that even a successful R&D run that otherwise comes up empty-handed is still worthwhile. With this, if you access two ice you . . . access two ice and have to wait a turn to see another card.

To really make this hum, it needs to be paired with Imp to help thin R&D, and ideally with Noise to help sift through R&D even faster . . . in which case, why not just play Criminal and run Medium instead?

With Medium you need to run often on R&D to make it worthwile. With one R&D Interface, you can half the runs you would normally do and build up or put pressure on other servers instead. And no, you don't need Imp to make it work. It helps, but the pressure from the interface alone is enormous. Good luck making R&D runs so expensive, the runner loses credits when he runs it once every two turns. And that doesn't even take multiples into account.
