This card has proven to be a good performer for me in various decks. Mixed with cheap code gate and barrier ETRs is the main use, but as a marginal boon the cannot be bypassed abilitiy has come up a few times against inside job for me and I was glad to have this card in my deck.
Did anyone notice the flavourtext? Who is this guy named 'Spider'?
An additional, not yet introduced runner?
Or did this unlucky soul just got killed by guard
?
Maybe it's a hidden special ability of guard:
If you try to bypass him, he will flatline you. (your run ends here, mate.)
The flavor text is quite good, but I read it as doing exactly what the tin says, "...his grip on cyberspace loosened." is a talking about ending a run. The stuff in the middle is how he couldn't bypass it. "He desperately reached for his shuriken..." sounds to me like he's getting his killer (ninja) ready to take out the sentry he thought he was going to bypass.
As to who "Spider" is, I hope we get "Princess Space Kitten" first...
