Breaking with Crypsis is the one time this would be nice to keep around, as he'd have to recharge his virus token, but Crypsis has become less popular lately anyway.
I completely agree. Cheap Ice can make a good build for a lot of reasons. Counters R&D or HQ digs, an unrezzed ice might give the runner pause, Security Subcontract, etc. Plus, with the upcoming Caissa decks, an ice that self trashes is not bad at all, especially with runners who don't use breakers and rely on trashing or bypassing effects. It's an effective counter to Running Interference and other Criminal shenanigans. One might call this ice situational, but there are many situations for it.
0 cost 0 strength etr of any type would be extremely strong and auto 3x in almost any corp deck if it were neutral. So, I disagree that it would be balanced.
And now they're printing Vanilla in The Liberated Mind, the fifth Data Pack in the Mumbad Cycle: 0 rez, 0 str, ETR without trash, even without influence.
