A lot of people have been nay-saying this card, but I think it has its uses. This is more of a defensive card. Sometimes DS wants to attack to get tactics on all the LS units committed to the Force, then commit somebody new to the Force and take control of the balance of the Force. If you play this during their conflict phase, they must skip their Force phase and can't commit new units to the Force.

from what i hear, the nay-saying is two pronged.  First, the jedi don't need any help taking and holding the force as it is, and second, cards like balance obi wan are actually hurt by doing this since there is no force struggle, so no recurring cards when its used.  I think it definitely has windows where it would be good to play, unfortunately, since its situational, its tough to hang on to it unitl that situation arises.

If you need to win the struggle to get some event (My Ally is the Force anyone?) this card hurts you. But there are plenty of situations where just grabbing the Force is all you want...

Imagine this card being in a Rebel Alliance set triggering of of unique RA cards :)

I love having it available on defense... I can use Yoda to defend, toss this into the edge battle, and now there's no force struggle so I keep the force into my turn (also possibly denying my opponent the chance to commit Mara).  Not an auto-use still with the loss of the trigger for My Ally, BotF Obi-Wan, the Wolfmen, Hyperspace Marauder, force resources, etc.

Exactly...defensively this card is strong to deny your opponent his force phase. And if he cannot commit in his turn, it will make winning the struggle the normal way easier on your next turn. I think the tough decision comes when you have to win that one offensive edge battle and want to have a normal force struggle afterwards...do you put in the stack and skip the FP or risk losing the edge battle?
