Targeted Strike seems really good and his reaction also is great. I think this might be my light side faction of choice.

After playing several games he is hands down the best character out there for the rebels. He shoots first and shoots often and has 3 non edge dependend damage plus exausts an opponents character. All for only 4!!
5/5 Han is the best card in the Core set. His reaction absolutely crushes Naval decks. His ability hurts Sith decks by taking out their resource chuds. He is a beast that must be handled immediately or you will lose. With a Guardian of the Peace out and Obi Wan's Spirit on Han it might be game over.
I believe I've yet to play a game without having his pod in the deck. Of course, this means there's so much I haven't used yet, but he's just too cool to pass up.
Yeah, he is by far the biggest swing card in any of my games, getting him early almost always puts my deck on the fast track to win. I wish Obi-Wan provided as good a character as Han does.

As I understand, this unit can deal ONE damage to a unit not engaged in the battle and TWO damages to a unit engaged? Right?

He can do his two damage to a unit outside engagement as well. He has Targeted Strike.

Other than the fact that he isn't elite, I love this card. I guess they intentionally omitted the elite keyword due to balance issue, right?

That's likely the case, as few units provide as much board control as Han who, unlike most of them, can completely remove several threats instead of just locking them down.

With protectors already covering for his low HP since Core, there had to be some other countermeasure against him. At least that's my guess.
