I wasn't a fan of these guys (honestly, I'm still not - no blast and no force pips is pretty unimpressive), but they did win me a game yesterday in a pretty fun way:
* Had one DS objective destroyed, and one with 3 damage and a captured Ops Planner
* Launch a big attack on another objective, use Rebel's Hope to bring an Ops Planner from the discard, use it to deal a 4th point of damage to the damaged objective
* Deal 4 damage to the engaged objective during my attack
* At the end of the engagement, Hope would send my Ops Planner to my hand, but its replacement gets it captured at the objective I just attacked - so I have two DS objectives with 4 damage and captured Ops Planners
* During my next deployment, play a third Ops Planner from hand, use its reaction to blow up a damaged objective and rescue an Ops Planner. Play that, use its reaction to blow up a third objective.
It feels good to win during deployment when you don't even have any rebel assaults.
I have a fun tier 1.5 deck with these guys. They're actually pretty strong. I think LS needs one more synergistic pod (with money) for this pod to leap into the limelight.
Do you mean synergistic with the planners, specifically? Because in general I think Dodonna goes well with this set - he's a leader to trigger Hope, has 2-cost guys to drop with Hope and his chuds get their bonuses from Leia. Also, has card draw, an awesome resource and a twist. Though that's just called being a good set, not good specifically with Hope.
