I'm baffled that this got a reprint in a pod with no Officers. I'm assuming that FFG just didn't want to make a new event. Let's take a look at all of the Navy events that cost 2 or more:

Superlaser Blast and Moment of Triumph: Killer events that are definitely not in need of a reprint.

Trooper Assault and Awards Ceremony: They don't fit in this pod.

Tractor Beam: Not a Navy event, but might as well be. But, literally every Capital Ship deck will have at least 2 of them so it doesn't need a reprint.

That leaves Apology Accepted and Detained. Detained fits with the theme of cards leaving, but it's a really nasty event and I think it'd be a bit broken to reprint that. Being punished by a Fist is bad enough, but capturing an attacker in a Fortress deck? That's a bit too much. And adding a 3-pipper would have given this pod absurdly high edge.

So this card is all that's left. It's a fair assumption that if you're playing this pod you're probably running Tarkin and Yularen, but it's still weird to see it in a deck with no Officers. The Alpha-class is neat but it could have been an Officer instead. Either that or a new event could have been made...Navy has surprisingly few of them.

The events fits the pod despite the lack of officers because it gives the Dark Side a way to sacrifice units during the conflict phase in order to trigger The Avenger's reaction. Having said that, I would have loved to see a Navy equivalent to Rebel Assault to go with the damage effects on the objective and The Avenger. That might have been too strong, though.

Didn't even think about that. Moreover, Captain Needa's ship was the Avenger so it fits in thematically.
