I plan on using it in a Navy Hoth deck with Veers, Vader, AT-AT's and maybe Endor Gambit. Lots of boosts all around to do extra damage. Course will need to wait till July for all of those cards sadly.
I think Hoth decks will be a risky play for the DS just because of Prepare for Evac. If you are playing an Aggro Navy deck and they are playing a Rebel/Smuggler Hoth deck you stand to lose some units, potentially good ones. Not sure if that is worth the risk or not.
As for this objective, I love it. It's really good in multiples and forces a rebel player to deal with it ASAP.I think Sith Control likes this for the Moraine, Starck and mostly the objective. Navy loves it for all the same reasons and the pressure that it puts onto the opposing player. This makes the Death Squadron Star Destroyers more threatening.
That experience left me with some decent ways to deal with this objective. Things like shields, protectors and sneaky use of Old Bens Spirit in a Jedi/Smugglers deck seemed to help. Of course they were target number one from the get go.
Although once you get it down to only one objective in play, it loses its overall effectiveness, especially if you make sure you always have a spare shielded unit.
They did, however, help my wife take the win in the end, as they work great with Starck and company, since they had a chance to damage an objective or two early on.
Just to make sure I am playing this right. I can use this reaction on the very first turn of the game (got it on setup), even though I am not actually removing any focus tokens, right?
Correct. The Refresh Phase is the 2nd phase (after Balance) and it happens on every turn, including the first turn of the game. (pg 12 of the rule book)
Thank you
