A very rough concept that I few together real quickly. 2x Luke: No comment 2x Threepio: See Above 2x Yoda: with all the nasty Sith events and no "Trust Me" to fall back on you are going to need those 2 counter strokes. Use Yoda to keep the force and keep away from combat unless absolutely necessary. If anything just tag a few events on him as you go along so that he can be used to close out the match. Oh, NEVER play him without protectors or event cancel available. 1x Moldy Crow: I can't imagine purposely putting 4x R. Colonists in a deck so 1x it is. The Moldy Crow is not a card to build a deck around, IMO, it is a great tool to give Jedi control some much needed closing power. "My Ally is the Force" is great but must be used carefully. 1x Kyle: If you don't flip the objective having 4 Katarns is cluttery. This objective may be the first to go. 1x Balance Obi-Wan: I have seen this obj in action at my local meta (Miami, FL) and in my opinion is a staple for Jedi control variants. Ditch those wolfmen in edge and recur them in the force struggle, also, I believe you can kill off the wolfmen with "My Ally..." and recur them immediately afterwards. I Can't tell you how frustrating it is to have Obi-Wan bring back Threepio over-and-over again. And possibly, bring back "My Ally is the Force" for some ridiculous control. 1x Redemption: The idea here is to bring back and/or save your dead guys you kill off with "My Ally...". Or anyone for that matter. Just make sure you have the Redemption committed lol. If you test this lemme know how it goes. Thanks. |

This looks interesting for sure. I agree that the Kyle pod is the first to go.
Did you consider 1x Red 5 instead of Kyle?
I did actually, but I am not a big fan of Red Five because of his damage capacity. Probably will replace kyle with Ferus Olin once he comes out http://www.fantasyfl...s.asp?eidn=4653.
After playing this deck tonight I realized that 2x Moldy Crow has the potential to be very powerful. I will actually take out one Kyle Katarn for an extra Moldy Crow. I realized today how powerful the ability of the "Flight of the Crow": Edge {1} for each attacking unique Jedi unit is.
How about Message from Beyond instead of Last Minute Rescue? Redemption is expensive, if you take it into battle you risk losing all those resouces, and the units you want to recover are expensive as well.
Old Ben's Spirit allows you to keep your units around for longer without investing nearly as much. Calm and Weapon Mastery are rather crappy, but serve as decent edge fodder. Heat of Battle is always nice.
Glad to see you're so dedicated to Message; I'm still keeping it in mind for my own deck thanks to your recommendation. x3
OP, I think this is good! My opinion on the Crow set is different, but I can see your reasoning, for sure. I just don't want to let those resources go. If Journey to Dagobah had five health, I'd almost certainly put it in. But it doesn't. You might want to think about putting it in instead of Last Minute Rescue, but Message is also a great choice!
I'm a big fan of A Message from Beyond. Used it in my Jedi deck all of last year instead of one set of Guardians
I promote A Message from Beyond because I feel it is not only unappreciated, but forgotten. When the first Force Pack (Desolation of Hoth) came out, the Luke - Han deck with Old Ben's Spirit was THE LS deck to go (I've always disliked it tho'). Then people moved on (thanks to Prep for Battle) and said Message was bad because it had no units.
Then again, people would always play 2x Message, of course they would have few units. Because a single set has 2x Old Ben's Spirit and two situational cards, it's good enough to play just one. Also, Jedi have been getting some new awesome enhancements you can get back with the objective (ex: Trust, Soresu and Force Cleansing are the best IMO, but others like Makashi can still give you some nice extra edge icons for the conflict phase).
Furthermore, with Force Storm and My Ally is the Force becoming a thing, Old Ben's Spirit can be a stronger defense than Guardians (Ex: you can save Luke from you own My Ally is the Force without commiting him).
I know far too well that Secrets of Yavin IV is a fantastic, sometimes mandatory set to include, but I feel people are sometimes too afraid to try new things, even in casual play. This, however, might be because the game evolves too fast to actually test everything. Post-worlds aside, there was always atournament just around the corner.
Well, I'm definitely up for giving it a shot as a one-of replacement for Guardians!
I don't have K&D (might be getting it today...), but when I do I'll do some tinkering. Can't wait.
