I haven't played as much as I would like with this archetype, but what does Mission Briefing add to the deck?

Also you probably want that second Yavin 4, it's still so good.
I ran the following list earlier this week and it performed reasonably but will try some tweeks for next weeks games:

    2x Yavin 4
2x Draw their Fire (which performed really well together with APD and HO)
    2x Hoth Ops
    2x Attack Pattern
    2x Prep for Battle

The risky thing with running 4 non Hoth pods, is that all of the Rebel Hoth pod objective abilities need you to have more Hoth objectives then your opponent, and it is very possible to draw 4 non Hoth objectives for your objectives (no redraws there). If your opponent has just as many Hoth objectives as you, non of the Rebel objective abbilities will work. I would go with your original deck, but swap out Mission Briefing for a Draw Their Fire.

Having 4 non-Hoth objectives and drawing all is the same chance as running a 6/4 split and getting resource locked, and at least I am willing to chance that since the probability is really low.
You might run into some problems with Navy locking you out of objective abilitys but that can happen even if you run all Hoth (since you need to control more than your opponent).
If I only wanted to run 2-3 non-Hoth pods I would probably run Prepare for Evac instead of Sensors are placed but then again I am probably biased against Sensors are placed in general.

Sensors are placed is the solution to being locked out. It contains the Echo Base enhancement which counts as a Hoth objective and gives you resources and adds 1 damage capacity to all Hoth objectives. Why would you want to remove it?
I quit running the sensors are placed because I don't feel that it is quite as useful as prep for evac and defense of yavin 4 ( possibly the rebel fleet as well)

it doesn't synergize with attack pattern delta, or hoth operations. it synergies a bit better with preparation for battle and of course keeps you from getting locked out of hoth operations, but all hoth navy decks aren't quite as good as a mixed version, at least imo.

True, but this deck is called Shielded Speeders, so with that in mind I think pods with the shielding capability should be included.

    2 x Hoth Operations - Speeders
    2 x APD - Speeders
2 x Preperations for Battle - Speeders and Shielding
2 x Sensors Are Placed - Echo Base Shield Generator
2 x Draw Their Fire - Fleet Command Center
I think sensors are placed would be reasonable if the echo defenders where vehicles (so they trigger attack pattern), even if they are still abit too defensive for my taste.
Considering that you already run a bunch of defensive speeders in the AAC speeder tanks I don't want to add additional pods that don't have units that help push through blast icons.
Also Def of Yavin 4 is so good, I think Red Two is actually the worst card in there for this deck and he is still awesome in the right circumstances and otherwise at least OK.

Ah, but throw on a Hoth survival gear enhancement to an Echo Defender and you got:

    1. an excellent defender
    2. a great addition to a speeder attack

Rouge 2 has two unit damage, and the regular snow speeder has 1 unit damage. An Echo Defender with Hoth Survival gear has anywhere from 0 (if you run 4 non hoth pods and draw them at the start) to 4 (If you have 3 Hoth pods in play plus the Echo enhancement) edge enabled unit damage. If he is there with speeders attacking, and Hoth Ops in play, then the edge battle is going to be a lot easier, and that 1 Echo Defender can take out an AT-AT.

If Prep for Battle is in play, and you have the Echo Base Shield Generator in play, then he is either untouchable (if Death Star dial is 4 or lower) or Very Dangerous (All of his icons plus a blast damage)

Red 2 can't be played off of APD, only the Y-wing.

AAC 1 speeders are defensive, but with Prep for Battle, they provide quite an offensive boost. And with Hoth Ops they are extremely important to have in any offensive maneuver.

All it takes in the DS player to have just as many Hoth pods as you to neutralize all of the Hoth pod benefits.
