Put this on a unit with ranged and watch your opponent cry. Also I believe it works with assault platform, so you can sneak it into combat.

Good call on AoE being cumulative: I'd totally missed that.

Fantastic attachment, good card otherwise. 5/5 because you have the option to chose. Granted it is likely to be a 4/5 with any other Tau Warlord as Shadowsun.
Short answer is no.
Long answer is, just like you said, Shadowsun puts attachments in play, while Gun Drones say they can only be deployed as attachments, so it conflicts with Shadowsun's text. If the Drones said "can enter play", then it would be possible.
A standard unit, a great attachment. I like the flexibility of this cards and this particular drone is close to be out of scale.

So long as it is an army unit, not a vehicle, and doesn't have some other limitation (like "no attachments"), yes.
Even with the army, not a attachment, this card is nuts.
