You cannot put it on a warlord only an army unit (warlords are 'Warlord Unit'). 

 

I think this is the best attachment in the core set. It is important to remember that it will not trigger on the killing blow to your unit. But putting this on a Crisis Battle Guard is so amazing. Especially if you can manage a cadre on it as well. It has won me games.

Buzz why would it not trigger on the killing blow? It's still a reaction. I understand that units die immediately in this game with no "moribund state" like in Game of Thrones, but both interrupts and reactions supersede the destruction of a unit.

Since it's a reaction you wouldn't be able to react because the unit will have left play. Much like Chewbacca in Star Wars. The unit needs to take non-lethal damage to reflect.

Reactions happen after the resolution of an effect, not before.

Am I right in thinking that this does not trigger if you are damaged by (Area) damage, as this is not an attack?

Fantastic Attachment, auto include for Shadowsun's deck but also seems to be usefull for future other Tau Warlords. 2 Shield Icons and a fantastic ability make this 5/5.

What are the rules in regards to flying? Is the damage halved or not?

Flying halves damage assigned by attacks to the unit with flying. Thats all that it does.

 

It doesn't reduce ability based damage, nor Area Effect damage, nor cost damage or anything else.

 

RRG p7, have a read, it is very specific.

I particularly like attaching this card to a Sac Broadside, gives the Sac Area Effect 2 while making it very costly for the opponent to take out the Sac.  My favorite combo in the game.
