Area Effect 3, the art should have just been a bullseye. Though area effect 3 with the Chaos Warlord present, not much can stand up to that.
Less expensive with Chaos ability to offset the costs with cultists and the like. No doubt though, this guy is worth 5 even if you have to pay full price. Definitely the best big hitter in Chaos.
Vicious Bloodletters a.k.a Marine Blenders
5/5
Still remains my most favourite card from the whole Core set.
You're not wrong there, though the meta has moved on slightly and there's now strong competition from Gleeful Plaguebeast, which is much harder to avoid or counter because its damage happens right at the start of the phase, before Mobile or any Combat Action windows or attacks.
While Bloodletters are still excellent and hit much harder, the benefit of not being answerable with a ranged hit, initiative strike, blanking effect or rout make Gleeful Plague Beast considered a generally stronger option. To be sure though, many decks make room for both, especially with Ku'gath who can run a higher cost curve than Zarathur.
