Hmmm. Nazdreg, Smasha Gun, Vehicle-heavy variant. Which is doable, thanks to Enginseer Mechanic having 5HP for 3, and Steel Legion Chimera being synergistic.
Can keep your deploy phase going after Smasha has done its thing.
Kinda weird that Orkz and Starblaze can take a card called Death Serves the Emperor. Any guard in service of those xenos have clearly turned their back on the light of the Emperor.
Well, the death of orks does indeed serve the Emperor.
Yeah, I want Gorzod to be good so bad, I always forget about the draw back.
This card... wow. I just don't have any words for how bad this is conceptually. Lazy. Ugh. I'm really hoping player content is better than this.
My god. That's so degenerate and backwards.
honestly, I think it was a game design trap. All loyal events were two shields, but they didn't want to give AM another 2 shield event that works well in the tank deck. If they could have just accepted a 1 shield loyal card, this wouldn't be an issue at all.
But in a good way, right?
Best case scenario.
Turn 1 with initiative:
Rugged Killa Kans. Smasha Gun. Use Smasha Gun. At this stage you take 5 onto Killa Kans, then play Death Serves to gain 4R. Opponent takes Coteaz 6 onto his cappers and warlord. Hopefully, they start passing, while you go Mekaniak Repair Krew, untap Smasha, Tallarn Raiders, Promotion. You take 1 to Tallarn, both units survive, and opponent takes some more damage. Use Repair Krew again. And Smash. And Again. And Smash.
Worse case scenario:
You have initiative. You play Smasha Gun.
Opponent plays Enraged Ork, or Sniper Drone Team, or Enginseer Mechanic. Or Subdual.
Awwww.
Repair Krew needs to exhaust in order to ready the Smasha, so you wouldn't be able to use the Smasha more than twice in deployment given your example. Reading up, the Enginseer Mechanic also has 6HP, not 5.
Get your **** together Asklepios
Obviously after you exhaust the Mek Repair Krew you give him a little nudge so he's exhausted 180 degrees instead of 90 degrees.
Define "Good" I suppose.
Good for the game? Absolutely not. I don't believe Conquest was supposed to be about alt-economy and combo silly stuff like this.
Good as a strategy? Absolutely - because it's ridiculous free resources outside of command rewarding bad play decisions.
It's hardly an alternative economy. It's one trick that nets you specific resources in the most unlikely, contrived situation that isn't even a win but just a small advantage to start out on in a situation presuming your opponent doesn't see it coming (good opponents would see this because they know the cardpool and can predict these strats) and also have nothing to counter it or to mitigate the advantage you'd gain.
Either way, there have always been 'silly combos' and stuff like this. "Swinging a bunch of tokens to wherever your opponent's tapped warlord is for the win" is a one-card combo and people seem to accept it as just something to play around. Cards that negate 100% of the damage or automatically kill a card provided to did a piddly point of damage to it are "one card combos" that are just fine.
This isn't even a great card. It's not revolutionizing the meta. People aren't stripping out 3x Preemptive Barrages to throw this card in. It's just one card that you can only play once per round (one of the most strict limitations on any card, even more limited than Limited) and doesn't even pay off except in decks built around it. All Vehicle A.M. decks just aren't really popular, even with Maksim making an appearance.
Also. It's one shield.
This card is hardly breaking the game, either in terms of play or in terms of 'brokenness'.
3/5 if you love A.M., but an argument could be made for 2/5. The truth is probably somewhere in between.
