This is more like it! Not universally applicable, by any means, but has some interesting possibilities and greatly enhances the utility of some of the lesser-used synapses (Gravid Tervigon pumping out 2-4 tokens in a single turn? Yes, please! Venomthrope Polluter unexpectedly pulling an elite away form your warlord when your opponent thinks he's uncontested at the first planet with their warlord? Double yes, please! Being able to pull Keening Maleceptor to a planet whose ability you want to trigger without telegraphing the commit? Tasty!).
Additionally, this card offers a bit more flexibility for commitments (particularly for combat-focused warlords like OOE), which makes an already-strong Tyranid ability stronger. You can command snipe downstream, then potentially jump to the first planet to steal it away (or face off against the enemy warlord, though you'll lose initiative thanks to Deep Strike timing).
All that said, it's still a pretty situational card and since the other Tryanid Deep Strike card is so worthless your opponent will know exactly what is coming once you play it, so I'm not sure if the card slot will be worth it most of the time. Still, I'm looking forward to at least trying it out!
I am already testing 2 copies of it in my OOE + Polluter deck with great success. Basically it can replace our lousy one drop 1/2 with great potential in an elite based deck. It's not the golden key to victory but it will cause many headaches either used as a first planet threat or a protection for strong triggers. Creating WL trains is viable option also to rearange the board in one turn with polluter.
Praising words from Desseas ? I thought they were only printing garbage this cycle ?
This card will be amazing with Polluter, Tervigon or Swarmlord in particular.
Probably also Omega, to have another Genestealer for infest.
Yea i wasn't impressed by this card but it sure is something to take under consideration for deckbuilding strategies. Many people get me wrong and it's probably my fault since i am really harsh on my judgment. This card will open many many plays and give a hard time to our opponents even if they know what it is. I am quite happy with Polluter atm and this card has quite nice synergy.
I might be playing OOE as i think it is the strongest tyranid warlord but i think this card wil also be really nice with the other 2. Swarmlord will be able to recommit and put more gaunts into play, while like you mentioned Omega can ally with Polluter and reallocate units to have 2 genestealers in play allways.
Overall It is a very well design card with great potential and if they print more cards like this in the future expansion i will be really happy.
Question: Can Burst Forth supersede the restriction on Savage Warrior Prime, basically letting you commit both your WL and SWP to the same planet?
As for the card itself, it's good not great, but I guess it can't be worse than Swarmling Hermagants (Brad must have a brain seizure the day he thought up that card)
Hmm, it must commit to a different planet than the warlord if able.
But since it isnt able to commit anywhere else than where Burst Forth is triggered, I don't see a problem here.
