I think there's already nearly enough Vehicles and Pilots with Shadowsun. This is effectively AOE2 and Ranged in one package against a planet loaded with exhausted characters.

Best attach it to a mobile unit like Trailblazer. Mobile in on the opponents train, then trigger its ability. Powerful

In Shadowsun it is great on Trailblazer or ECT, since you get to recur it if they die.

But really it is an Eldorath card, as it helps get around his biggest weakness.

As an Eldorath player/fan, I hope you are very right.  I do however think this card does almost nothing to help Eldar against swarm/token (which is way too common now) First in Eldar, you need a unit to play this on, Ok, so normally, that's wildrider or TrailBlazer in Eldar/Tau. (roughly 6 targets in current decks). Then you need to have the initiative prior to this being routed. (Swarmlord, Worr & Kith all have route effects and swarms of units), and then you have the restriction of those targets bring exhausted.

I don't know, I like the concept here, but can't see how it fits/works in Eldorath, right now, have not even built a deck with it yet.

I think this is much likely intended on an Experimental Devilfish: if he is swept up with your WL, he just does not care because he will be readied directly after commiting.

Which is pretty scary -> if he is in your HQ with the DDS, your WL will get +1 hammer whereever he/she/it goes + your oponent will happily avoid to ommit to the same planet as your WL if he/she/it also has a nice train in his/her HQ.

I think it will work best with an Ambush Platform..

You know who has access to a number of good vehicles and got a support that makes them cheaper last pack....

Gift of Isha a Mighty Wraithknight, ambush platform DDS, and then make it rain. (@_@)

Ambush platform might also come in handy for Jetbike

What ktom said.  Attach to a Pilot or Vehicle unit.  Recon Drone has neither trait and doesnt fulfill the condition.

No, since the DDS is not an attack and armourbane only affects damage dealt during attacks. This is instead an action that deals damage.

Pretty consistent out of Eldorath when you attach it to a Wildrider and can defend it with Nullify.

It's a monster when put on the Wildrider Squadron.. I've been on the receiving end of Baharroth w/Tau for some time now and the Drone Defence can certainly be a tough one to play against.

In Tau there's also the Trailblaizer who can carry it into a fight during mobile.

(Also in Tau, consider Even the Odds.. Mobile --> Action: DDS --> Action: Even the Odds --> Action: DDS (..))

I find it works generally quite well in Shadowsun as well, for all the same reasons mentioned above + the fact it can go on the Stealth Cadre should they be played conventionally, especially if you're recycling the DDS. It's not the most ideal play but when needed it gives the opponent a tough choice between dealing with the high hitting mobile/moving guys or the weak but heavy hitting Stealth Cadre. Throwing in Tau'va just makes things silly

For sure, though at action speed, at least you have a chance to fire it off before Terror can be played. However, the synergy with Eldorath's warlord ability makes it a best fit there, IMHO.

True, but I'd be happy for them to use a Terror on a DDS Stealth Cadre whilst a DDS/Starcannon Wildrider is sitting next door. Besides, who plays DE anymore
