4/5 This card would be great, if it had a command icon.
Exepriences vary, but I find its not very strong at all. For sure, if you combine it with Strangler Brood, Swarmlord, Termagant Horde and a Gravid Tervigon, you're generating a decent amount of ranged damage, but you need a LOT of cards to make this consistently work.
Compare this to Volatile Pyrovore (the gold standard for 3 costers in Tyranids) or Termagant Horde, and it pales in effectiveness. Lack of command on a 3 cost unit hurts as well in the long term, and this means even Tyranid Warriors is a better deploy in 90% of circumstances.
I don't played it yet, but I supose it's like the Fire Warrior Elite. x1 or maybe x2 in the deck, just for huge boost at key battles.
Yeah, that's a reasonable approach. 3x would probably weaken most decks, but a splash 1x in a gant-heavy deck sounds not unreasonable.
Termagant Horde I find is a very weak card, seeing as it only works well with SWP to generate more battles. And without Tervigon or Horde, Spikers still worked just fine to close out key planets without only three gants, because the shear damage generated by having either Spore Launcher or Brood, the latter being a 3x in every gant deck, works wonders against low health DE, which is the current meta worldwide. I go 2x in my deck as a first planet drop.
