This card is crazy good! Mainly for the fact that you get to LOOK at your opponent's hand. In this game that alone can be huge. Knowing what events/units they have, how many shields ect ect. (and the fact that it's not loyal!!) I feel like this helps alot of factions with the Spacies matchup as well. Knowing what tricks they have ( Indomitable, Exterminatus, Sicarius' Chosen) can really help plan against them. All and all, this is a card that's gonna see play in and out of faction.
The 3 cost is really steep. Unless your overflowing with resources, 3 is most of the time half or more of your resources.
Do you prefer hand knowledge or a mandrake on the table?
Will see play, but it is no crazy good.
Its one for a deck with Torture synergy (given we already have a card with this I am expecting it to become a thing) but not otherwise. How good it becomes is going to be purely based off of that.
I disagree ! Its a very strong card - u gotta play it proper, pulls keycards from your opponent and gives u knowlege of his hand (in MTG cards like this where staples) -
its a huge bonus to know that your opponent is planning (esp. for Dark Eldar).
Very strong card, indeed
It looks strong, but your really don't want this in your opening hand. This is a card that is best suited when your in the end game stages and you use it to rip Drop pod, or Archon's terror.
Getting rid of a Gun Drone, Drop Pod or Cardinis is awesome. There's the further advantage of looking at your opponent's hand to decide whether to commit to a fight or not.
What I like is you can use it any phase. you can take out shields, events, units, or any key combo cards. the 3 cost is steep but I feel it is appropriate for the effect.
Urien's main card. 4/5 for sure. Fantastic Dark Eldar Event card altough I am not yet sure if all Dark Eldar/Chaos/Eldar Warlords will play it.
One of my favorite cards from this cycle and with Urien now in the game I imagine it's going to see much more play. This effect for 2 with Urien is so much better than having to pay 3 with Kith.
Yes, clearly it goes from 0-1 copies for Kith to 3 copies for sure for Urien. Card choke is easier than resource choke for Urien, and makes Searing Brand and Experimentations more effective too. There's a nice emergent synergy that makes Urien better than most people expect him to be.
With Urien it's a beast. Most of his deck synergizes with the card (torture) and rather than choke, I think it's point is control. Knowing your opponents hand makes your deployment and fight choices quite straightforward. Combined with Urien's Oubliette and maybe the Crucible, it's an excellent tool to condition your opponent's game, and then play according to it.
If combined with high command you can also choke your opponent in cards if you are able to remove that single key card from his hand on time.
