Always a viable death from above candidate.
Yeah it doesn't count as mobile when in hand so is not a viable DFA candidate. Otherwise it might actually have a use.
I really don't understand how they costed this, ummm wildrider squadron?
They should have just made this card "Mobile" and left it at that.
Not a card likely to be seen very often I think.
At least with 4 cost and normal mobile it would make it into DFA decks, whilst not being auto in other decks. In its current state there's pretty much always a better alternative.
At least they're eligible to equip Starcannon, if you're into them.
I can see a possible use in a Calamity deck. Of course, that deck won't be any good until there's a sensible way of dealing with the cost curve.
I fully agree.
I think many players who have invested into Core sets and Warpacks will look at this and say: I bet they changed that in the last minute so Death From Above wouldn't spawn a whole different Mobile deck.
It's a shame really. As even if it was a simple 4 Costed 3/3 body with Mobile and 1 Command it wouldn't have been over powered imho.
- Now the Eldar faction as a whole could/would have been overpowered but this is more because of Warlock Destructor than this potential and hoped for two-card combination...
A shame really...
1/5.
This card should read: Mobile. This card loses mobile while is damaged. >_<
Can't understand why this card exist (and loyal) having the Wildrider Squadron. If we can't use Death from above, whats the point?
Terrible card, would never play.

This card was either an accident or they have a bunch of awesome Alaitoc keyword cards planned in the next few years.
I don't think so. I think its more likely they're going for depth of redundancy, for decks that might want to include more similar cards after taking the optimal ones.
As I said, if you were playing a deck that was built around 3x Starcannon, you might want to add 1-2 of these after taking the three WIld Riders. While I expect such a deck wouldn't have a cost curve suited to T1 play, there's certainly people out there who like this sort of deck, and will happily run it. Likely there's also deckshapes we haven't conceived yet that may emerge as other things click into place. For example, if we get more and more vehicle-only effects and upgrades, it might become the case that we see a deck with twenty or so units, and a tonne of events and attachments, running a "voltroned" up game.
While its possible they have clever Alaitoc synergies planned, I actually doubt we'll see Craftworld-trait based effects for some time, despite the Chapter and God-based precedents of SM and Chaos. Instinctively, I'd say its just not a design space that they seem to be approaching right now.
Partly, this is based on the lack of mechanical thematic unit between the same-Craftworld traited cards, and partly its because there's only three Alaitoc cards!
What type of card would make this usable? "Alaitoc units regenerate 1 life every turn" type of card?
Another Eldar-only vehicle attachment, but based around card draw.
Star Engines - "When attached vehicle moves to a planet, draw a card." (0 cost, Limited)
That sort of thing, combined with Starcannon, could encourage a deck that runs Wild Riders for sure, but also considers this card and Falcon.
According to spoilers, the new Eldar warlord and his signature squad makes Mobile and moving with Mobile fairly useful. Maybe not enough to make this guy ultra-attractive, but it's there.
Not at all, I'm afraid.
Cry of the Wind and Banner of the Ashen Sky are even better for Wild Riders than for Mobile guys, and the best place of all for them are on targeting Warlord or his squad for a sudden convergence of the Bhazhakhain...
The Shining Blade is Wargear so can't attach to either.
Most notably though, with 3-cost signature units its hard to justify more than a couple of 4-costs unless they can be discounted somehow with Death From Above.
Still, maybe the Baharroth Death From Above deck is ALSO the Starcannon deck, though I worry about the resource shape of that deck.
But sure, get your point - Baharroth makes this card stronger, in theory, though in practice its no better an include for him than for Eldorath.
This card sucks plain and simple. Wildrider Squadron is just better in everything. There is no need to look for something that doesn't exist. They needed to put a bad card in the pack and here it is. Nothing to see here, move along.
Because one day (probably in a few cycles time), someone is going to try and make the "best" worst deck possible and this card will fit right in!
Lol we will see
Such a horrible card. At 3 cost, it would still be worse than the Soaring Falcon. With "Mobile. This unit loses mobile while it is damaged," it would still probably not make the cut in my Baharroth deck.
As printed, completely superseded by Wildrider Squadron unless you desperately need a second 4 cost "sort-of mobile" vehicle unit.
