A staple in my Yog decks. By drawing 2 cards it means you do more then simply replace itself, which is why I'm not a fan of one-use cards that only draw 1 card.

But the response is what can make the card frustrating. Typically you use it to manipulate your opponent's deck so they don't draw cards you want them to (3+ cost characters when you have Negotium, for example), and your own to draw what you need.
It also combines well with cards such as Peter Clover and Rite of the Silver Gate.

I agree with NuFenix here.  Almost always in my Yog decks.  I just need to get better at remembering to use it's ability from the discard (Out of Sight, Out of Mind).

Ever since Key and the Gate gave such a plethora of "from discard" abilities, I place those cards rotated 90 degrees from the rest of the discard, so it stands out from the rest of the stack.

I wish they put a symbol by the title, like how some cards in AGOT were given the infinity symbol to remind you they could trigger from the dead pile.

I have not played Yog much. I like the idea of rotating 90 degrees.

That is a great idea. I think I'll try that.  Thanks Blinovitch.

This card is a lot of fun.  The many uses of the Response effect are limited only by your imagination.  It helps De Vermis Mysteriis, Tenebrous Nightgaunt, Guardians of the Gate (really nice combo for controlling opponent's card draw), and so on.  To me, where this card gets really interesting is in the phrase "After a player drains a domain,..."

When I started wondering if I was leveraging this card properly, I fixated on that phrase.  I can control my own domain draining, but how do I control my opponent's domain draining?  My conclusion was combining it with cards like Calling the Williwaw and The Black, so my opponent has to pay x and trigger my Vortex or else suffer the consequences on his board.  I wasn't able to find room for The Black, but I did find room for Calling the Williwaw since it, like Vortex, is a spell, and both can benefit from new Wilbur Whateley.
