If you double the search effect with Rickon Stark (MotA), can you choose a card type twice (to pick two different card types)?

I would say yes, you can. Since the only restriction is that the card you're searching for is of a different type, as long as you don't choose the named card type, any type should be legal.
When Rickon copies an effect, he copies the whole effect. So you have to re-do everything after the word "to."

So to clarify, you only stand one character, but your opponent chooses a card type once for each effect. That could be the same type or two different ones, the one choice not affecting the other. Hope that helps!

In practice, I imagine many opponents would just pick the same type twice. Otherwise, they're giving you unlimited access to your deck. At least picking the same thing twice prevents you from getting some things.

With Galbart Glover (CbtC) out and a copy of TBaW in your discard pile, they had better not allow you to get events or else you can just continue standing your guys and getting the TBaW back.
Galbart Glover + Rickon + 2 x To Be a Wolf, and they quickly learn to block Events :P
Do you have to shuffle your deck, at the end?
Whenever you search your deck, you must shuffle it.
