Awesome drawing and tricon neutral character with some mercenary-theme-focused ability... You can say what you want, I like that card :)
I really like the idea, but there are way too few mercenaries to work with. I mean, some of them are great, like Long Lances (THoBaW) or Southron Mercenaries (TBoBB), but Tattered Prince won't work on them, and you can't even include them in the same deck without City of Shadows (CoS).

Gold Cloaks (AToT) would be great in a dedicated mercenaries deck, but again - 'House X only' restriction ruins it for the Tattered Prince.
Absolutely right, for now but I hope that the Tattered Prince is the initiation of real mercenary theme...
I'm sure this question has come up with the other CHaracter-Agendas, but on this case it seems particularly relevant: If you are already running an agenda (character or not), when this huy dies he does nothing, right? He will not boot out an already-emplaced agenda?

If you are already running an agenda (character or not), when this guy dies he does nothing, right? He will not boot out an already-emplaced agenda?

Right. If you already have an agenda, he just goes to the dead pile when he dies.
I feel like this is FFG trying to give Targ a charagenda since no one plays Griff (CD).

We'll see what people submit, but it's hard to imagine him being good outside of the House Targarian Only Recruitment (VD). Even recruitment looses it's luster away from Long Lances (THoBaW)/Street Waif (AToT) combo.
So…FGG is suggesting that this guy can be used to lower the cost of bringing a mercenary character out of shadows:

Not only will The Tattered Prince allow you to play out-of-house Mercenary characters without penalty, he also lowers the cost of the first Mercenary character you play. The Tattered Prince can help you get your characters into play and a character like the Gold Cloaks (A Time of Trials, 25)

I had no idea that was the case. Does this mean that cards like Volantis (VM) and the other Free Cities lower the cost of playing their respective eligible cards from shadows as well?
Ok, now that I read that a little closer, it looks like FFG is saying that he will help you play Mercenary characters so that you could get more out of triggering Gold Cloaks (AToT)'s card-draw response.
