I just listened to the 2C1C episode where top/bottom 5 for this Chapter Pack was debated (ye, I'm a bit behind but catching up).

I was a bit surprised that this card was close to unanimously considered being the pack's best card. I saw 3x of it in a competitive GJ Maester deck the other day too - So it actually was such a powerful card? Even compared the the full meta of cards? I'm about to build me a GJ deck in the upcoming days, hence the sudden interest :)

I agree that it seems quite useful... but having to kneel a paid for character with a specific trait just doesn't seem like such a neat cost to me (their Refugees are Ironborn, but still). And that makes me considering playing To Be a Kraken (which has limitations too - but that can be used for good and is also able to cancel other triggered effects) or maybe even Seasick (I loved Mana Leak in Magic...).

Any thought on the subject?
I ran 3 in my GJ Maester deck, which won the UK Stoke Regional. Essential card. Even with a lot of my character spaces given up to Maesters, there's still a ton of Ironborn cards - not just the Refugees, but also Distinguished Boatswain (TftRK), as well as slightly more expensive but still good shouts like Wex Pyke (KotS) and Asha Greyjoy (WLL) (who, depending on when the cancel is played, might already have done her job for the turn since she doesn't kneel to attack). Plus in the Maester deck I was playing I had Copper Link, so whenever I didn't need to use it for another purpose I made someone Ironborn, as whether or not I had a Finger Dance in my hand it makes the opponent reluctant to play an event just in case.

In short, you will almost always have an Ironborn character you don't mind kneeling.

Also, the extra part about discarding etc. is useful, not just for recursion of Finger Dance (most of the time you won't see it again anyway to be honest) but also for helping fuel the bonus effects of Asha and Alannys Greyjoy (ODG).
Seconded--you're often going to be spoiled for choice when it comes to Ironborn. (Though why Maester Murenmure (CbtC) isn't I'll never know since the Goodbrothers are from Harlaw) Compare the restrictions on Paper Shield (QoD) or even He Calls It Thinking (PotS). With Finger Dance, it's just boom, done. I don't mind kneeling out a character to do that in the slightest since that Event is probably one of their best cards and I just knocked it out of their hand. Consider it a free Intrigue challenge ;-)
if my deck can support Seasick (KotS) (location destruction) or To Be a Kraken (SB) (military battle) then I will choose them over this as cancelling any triggered effect is just so good. If I do have room for cancel and cannot support one or both then I will run this event as it doesn't need much support from deck.
Thanks for sharing your experiences with the card guys :)

I might report back when I've tried the deck.
