If I manage to draw my singular raven before playing this plot, am I correct in assuming I'd just shuffle my deck (after angrily looking through its wasted draw potential, of course)? Or, would I just ignore the full plot text?

You have to attempt the search. You do not have to find the card. Afterwards, you shuffle your deck. So yes, if there is no Raven in your deck to find, you end up shuffling your deck (because you cannot ignore passive/"when revealed" effects).
