Does the gold on Tywin count towards the STR during the dominance, and is it removed during the taxation?

Gold on Tywin is not consider in your gold pool, so it does not count towards dominance or removed during the taxation phase.

That's really crazy. I thought it was sucked up during Taxation. You could just be stockpiling on Tywin to marshal out a heavy cost character after a few rounds. This is a powerful skill.

What's also nasty is targeting Tywin w/ milk of the poppies. Because Milk of the Poppies targets the card text, it prevents Tywin from gaining more gold and spending any gold he has accumulated.

I keep finding myself wanting to put this Tywin in over any other version. It just seems the most reliable for a 5 gold character slot. You gets 2 gold each round and its non taxable. I LotR version seems tough to pull off. Whenever I play
Coin Mint (LotR), I want the gold to marhsall out characters. Its too hard to wait and plan for a dominance win.

Just realized the brilliance of this Tywin and the Pyromancer's Apprentice (TBoBB). It allows you to gain 2 gold on Tywin before the active player count's income. Then you can bring PA out of shadows to blow up that location. Good ammunition vs. Targ burn & Martel influence events such as, Red Vengeance (PotS), Someone Always Tells (PotS), The Prince's Plans (TIoR), The Prince's Wrath (PotS), & the all devastating Westeros Bleeds (Core).

I can only spent the gold tokens on Tywin? like marshall attachements for him or i can marshall characters with the gold tokens of tywin?

You can spend the gold as if it were in your gold pool. You can spend gold on Tywin for anything you can buy with gold from your gold pool.

So just to confirm - gold on Tywin can be spent 'as if' it was in your gold pool, but it doesn't count toward anything that checks your gold pool? Obviously dominance and taxation are the main instances but what about cards like Lord Tyrion's Host, Ser Addam Marbrand and Ser Amory's Poachers?

Correct. The gold on Tywin is not in the gold pool, so anything that references the gold pool (dominance, taxation, Marbrand, etc.) does not count the gold on Tywin. You can just use it when you would pay gold out of your gold pool to cover a cost.
