Any smart ways to get rid of this guy? Just played a melee game where one opponent played this with devious intentions, and we had no way of getting rid of him except claim (which we never managed). He's immune to pretty much everything. There are a few plots I can think of, like Condemned by the Realm, but are there any nifty ways to get him without blanking the text box first? Also, did we interpret him right saying he could stand every time someone knelt to defend?
Oh, btw, I played a lanni city of shadows deck, but no kill/reset plots, and the only direct character/attachment control was pinch of powder and cersei lannister (the queen one, with the kneeling effect), but oh, that immunity :|.
Yeah there are a few, alot of the same things you would pack in a deck to get rid of any immune character. Pyat Pree (QoD), Pulled Under (TWH), Fishing Net (ASoS) things that blank him as you said, assorted non triggered burn off the top of my head. And yeah it seems like you played him right. Typically people play him in a Voltron deck giving him Devious and Rusted Sword (PotS) so he is defending 3 challenges per and racking up power.
Can I kneel Joffrey to pay for an effect?
I believe so, he is immune to triggered effect but there's nothing about being unable to kneel him to pay for the effect of another card.

That's one of the key ways to use him: Pay for something by kneeling him, kneel an opponent's character (or wait for them to kneel one to attack), then stand him and he claims a power.
Does Valor not kill Joffrey?
Valar will kill Joff, it is not a triggered effect
This may be dumb...If Joff is already standing, can I pay 1 gold to stand him & claim 1 power? It doesn't sound like that can happen. Help please.
I am not sure whether or not you can pay one gold to stand him, but he definitely won't claim 1 power if he was already standing. Classic 'then' clause case.

Surely the immune to triggered effects on this card contradicts his own response, because it's a triggered effect? Silliness
He's good to go. Per the FAQ:
(3.17) Self-Immunity
A card with immunity is not immune to its
own abilities

Are his icons immune to icon removal?
