So if there happens to be two copies of a unique in an opponent's dead pile and you trigger this and take both and one attaches as a dupe can u discard the dupe to keep it from going back to the dead pile?
I'm thinking no just because of the wording in the rules.

The reason you can't is there is no Step 2 or Step 5 during the "end of phase". So at the end of phase, when those characters will go back into the owner's dead pile, there is no Step 2 to allow you to even attempt to save them. And there is no Step 5 to trigger any of the character's "leave play" effects.
I was about to say there's very few circumstances in which there would be two copies of a unique in the dead pile, but if you're running all the Targaryen Hill cards it could happen I guess.
Lol exactly that two Vipes in the dead pile one from Aegon's Hill and the other was killed before by valar. But I went back and checked the rules specifically state that dupes save from kill, discard, return to hand and return to deck. I was hoping it just said save from any removed from play effect, but no dice.

The reason it doesn't work has less to do with what dupes protect against and more that you can't trigger anything at all (including dupes) in response to "end of phase" stuff.
If the opponent discard a character, this character goes to dead pile o discard pile?

I'm slightly confused by your question, so let me start by saying what I think the scenario is you are questioning. Say there are several characters in your opponents dead pile and you use Rhaeny's Hill (in the challenges phase) to bring them all out into play under your control. Then, through some feat of awesome, your opponent puts Ser Jorah Mormont (WLL) into play (requires additional card effects) and discards one of the Mercs that you now have under your control. They will go to the discard pile.

The characters brought into play from Rhaeny's Hill can be discard or killed and will go to the respective out of play piles. At the end of the phase, if any of those characters are left in play, they will be returned to the owner's dead pile.

And just to comment on this, the FAQ states that duplicates can be used to save from any effect that would make that card leave play - expect those that say "cannot be saved" or those during the "end of phase" such as this card.
Noob question , Is it possible to use this with House of Dreams? And is there any point?
It is possible, but not recommended.
