so just to confirm, this does NOT protect against Tears?
It does not. And it does not protect from Consolidation of Power (when multiple targets are chosen), Even-Handed Justice, Dragon Sight, or The Watcher on the Walls.
Thanks, that clarifies a lot! It's not bad but just having a hard time utilizing it.
You still get protection from Put to the Sword, Dracarys, Like Warm Rain, Confinement, The Things I Do For Love, Nightmares, Take the Black, and The Kraken's Grasp, etc. :-)
Excuse me, but why doesn't this protect against Tears? It sounds like it would, since Tears only targets a single character. Am I missing something glaringly obvious?
It doesn't protect from tears beacuse tears doesnt specifically let you choose a character.
You just put a token on "a character".
Does this protect from events originated from locations like Highgarden?
No, that's not an event, it's a triggered ability.
Just to expand on bored2excess' (perfectly correct) answer a little, when Drowned God's Blessing refers to "opponents' events," it is literally talking about event cards played by an opponent. The triggered abilities on character, location and attachment cards are completely outside of the scope here.
