How often can this card be used, when can it be triggered, and is this a one time card?
Would it not be useful against BtS Luke Skywalker and other Jedi cards that get stronger for the number of enhancements on them?
It would help keep some of them under control... but might also count as an attached enchancemnt itself.
So they would get one set of bonuses, but you could keep that one guy to just one enhancement pretty handily.
So it can be used at any time until there are no more attachments left, the unit is destroyed, or the enhancement is removed from the card...sweet. Thanks for the clarification, I know I have been asking a lot of questions lately.
So long as BTS Luke is focused, could not he use an action to discard this card and remove the focus?
I'd say no, since you can only pay the cost of an action with a card you control.
So the player controlling BtS Luke couldn't pay the cost of the unfocusing action by discarding "Confiscation", since the DS player controls it.
Action: Discard an enhancement from this unit to remove 1 focus token from this unit. (Limit once per turn.)
"Discard an enhancement" is the cost of "remove 1 focus token from this unit."
I agree with medfreeman, you can't get rid of an enhancement that is not your own unless your unit is destroyed, captured, or returned to your hand. To my knowledge there is no card to get rid of an enemy enhancement.
On the other hand the reaction could still be triggered because it is a generic in nature and is similar to the core Yoda's reaction regarding enhancement. Furthermore because it is once per turn you could apply the reaction when you play an enhancement and when your opponent plays an enhancement on BtS Luke.
Force Rejuvenation can discard enemy enhancements.
You are right...but that is only one card, two if you use both of the Last Minute Rescue Objective Sets. That is 2 out of about 1100 cards (550-if the cards are divided equally between LS and DS- I have not divided these two categories into the thirds that make up the three decks for each side) which is not a lot to work with really.
On the other hand Confiscation is just one card as well so maybe it balances out.
"Yub Yub" and "Saboteur" can also discard enhancements.
Yub Yub: "Action: Focus an Ewok unit to discard a target enhancement from play."
Saboteur: "Reaction: After this unit enters play, discard a target enhancement with printed cost 2 or lower."
Okay it is obvious that there are more cards to get rid of enhancements that I first realized. Thank you KirdanKenobi and CarsonFlintlock for pointing out the flaws in my assumption.
So to be clear: If Luke just had "Action: Discard an enhancement attached to this unit." the LS player could discard Confiscate, but since it has a following "to do something" it becomes a payment effect and they are not able?
Do we have an official response on that? I find some of these rules so counter-intuitive...
FAQ 4.1: The word "to"
The word "to" as in "Do X to do Y" indicates that X is a cost that must be paid before Y can occur.
FAQ 2.16: Paying Costs
A player can only pay costs using cards and game elements that he controls.
Cycling Luke (or any unique LS Character for that matter) with Heroes and Legends works to get rid of it (and other nasty Sith Enhancements) as well
