Hello,
if DS player plays Grand Moff Tarkin, is the LS objective with only one remaining "hit point" immediately destroyed?
Yes, his effect applies as soon as he hits the table. Instead of looking at the objectives as having one hit point left, look at them as having taken X damage. If an objective with a defensive capacity of 5 has 4 damage on it and Tarkin comes into play, it now only takes 4 damage to destroy that objective instead of 5. Since it has 4 damage, it's immediately destroyed.

He looks so much more ancient in this version!

This card (from what I can see) looks quite good, so you'd want to keep it on the table. If you never declare it as an attacker or defender doesn't that mean you could just keep it the entire game (barring some event card that can affect units outside am engagement if such a thing exists)?

There are lots of things that affect units outside of engagements. Rebel Assault, for example - or a unit with targeted strike, of which LS has several. But yes, he'll remain in play until he's dealt 2 damage or sacrificed or something.

Answers that one then, thanks!

This guy see much competitive play? He seems good for an aggronDS deck but I have no clue if that’s even viable.

Much?  I don't think so.   But definitely some.  Has a niche place in Mission Palpatine decks.
