So, if I don't have an enhancement in hand, I wouldn't want to use this guy's reaction, right? Come to think of it - why is his reaction any good?

Although the card does not say it explicitly...you discard the enhancement from play, not from your hand. So if your opponent has an annoying enhancement out (even a resource enhancement) you can discard it when this guy comes into play. That's why its ability is ok ;)

His reaction can discard an opponent's enhancement.  If a card's text doesn't say "your" or "your opponent's" or "a friendly" or "an enemy", etc, then it can apply to either player.

Discard can refer to the play area as well; it's not only talking about what's usually thought of as discarding (taking the card from someone's hand). So, saboteur can let you "kill" an opponent's enhancement...or your own I guess if the situation warrants.

Fascinating...I was always under the impression that "discard" meant from hand and "destroy" or "Kill" meant from the table. Ok, yes, he's got a pretty good reaction, then. Death to Sith Library! LOL!

Yeah, discard just basically means move a card from wherever it is to the discard pile.
