It's not a Forced Reaction, so unless the owner of the enhancements (LS) wants it, enemy units won't get the shield.
I find this card a bit overpowered in 2v2 games. Last time LS brought down several speeders on the rebel side and some renegade squadron characters on the smugglers side and the two LS player had like 4-5 shielded units up after deployment. It was insane
Don't think there's any sort of 2v2 meta, but it's good that some cards get those big surges in power. Encourages playing with new stuff. In this case, the Wing Guards are still rather mediocre, so I think it ultimately balances out.
