It seems like every Navy pod in IE got a lot of attention and praise, except this pod. I think part of the problem is that players can't figure out whether to put it in a TIE fighter deck, or a different Navy deck. I also think that this is more of an one-of set since it comes with 2 Phantom already, and they're a bit expensive for their ability. However, it's not a bad set, just one that is harder to figure out than others.
I am personally really excited to see TIE Phantoms and their ability and plan on throwing 1 of these objectives in my fighter deck. But I agree totally that it is a 1-of set.
I'll run 2.
I think these want to live in a fighter deck. The event obviously plays toward that archetype, and the Phantoms are screaming to be played with Tallon Roll. Sure the cost of the Phantoms will make the deck play slower, but this set has a lot of things a more controllish, less aggressive fighter deck would want to see: an enhancement to up unit damage, Heat, and fighters with tactics.
I'm definitely running 2 with Defense Protocol, Vader, Fel, and probably Mithel.
Alternatively, put them together with Decimators and you'll be really annoying.
Basically, Phantoms don't care about edge on offense and Decimators don't care about it on defense.
