how do you kill this ship then?
"While this unit is ready and participating in an engagement" means you can target it AFTER it is focused to strike and is no longer ready.
You can also hit it with cards outside of engagements, such as with Rebel Assault.
If the Phantom is with another unit against 2 enemy units and the opposing units won the Edge and strike first, it means the Phantom cannot be targeted by card effects and combat icons if you let the Phantom resolves its strike last, right?
Nope.
So can it still be affected if it's ready but NOT Participating?
