Does anyone know if this is would enhance an objective continually once played, until such an objective is destroyed? Or is it merely that turn?

I would interpret it to be a continuing effect, providing the objective it is attached to doesn't go BOOM!

All Enhancements remain in play until discarded from play somehow with a card like Tear this Ship Apart.
That makes this card pretty awesome, needless to say.
Of course the shield would come off at the controller's next refresh phase as per the game rules.
does this trigger when you have it on Secret of Yavin 4 and you redirect an engagement to it?
I say no, because DS hasn't declared the engagement against this objective, LS just redirected it.

You are correct as Secret of Yavin 4 has not been declared an objective at that point.
