In a Hoth deck this could be a great unit. You can have up to 3 Hoth objective sets in the 1st force pack..i think.
Attach this to them and they get a lot better:

Well "alot better" is a matter of subjectivity. If your opponent only has units on the board with 2 health then a character doing 6 unit damage is kinda redundant

Anything can be said to be subjective so not sure what your point is.

How could this unit ever do 6 unit damage though ? You can only ever control 3 Hoth objectives at one time. So at the most they would have 3 unit damage and 2 Blast damage. However adding the Hoth Survival Gear to them makes them surviving a much more likely prospect as with 3 Hoth objectives they now also have 5 damage capacity.

3 unit, 2 blast and 5 health for 3 resources.

You forget the Echo Base enhancement. It counts as an additional Hoth Objective, thus adding another point of damage.

4 unit, 2 blast 5 damage capacity for 3 resources.

Actually, that would be 5 resources plus 3 cards.

5 Resources? Are you including the cost of the Echo Base enhancement in your resouce cost? I was excluding it and only looking at the unit cost itself. And what is this 3 card business? Not saying your wrong, I just am not sure where you are getting it.

The point being that you'd have to spend 5 total resources and use 3 cards to get your super unit.
3 for wilderness fighter + 2 for Echo Base + 0 Hoth Survival Gear = 5 resources and 3 cards.

3 for wilderness fighter + 2 for Echo Base + 0 Hoth Survival Gear = 5 resources and 3 cards.

Okay. You would have the resources to spend on it so it's not as if it would be a problem.
1 affiliation card for 1 resource
3 objectives for at least 3 resources
1 Echo Base enhancement for 1 resource
Plus any additional enhancements for 1 resource each.

With my deck, building this super unit, even with having to buy Echo Base in the same turn, is not an issue.

That and my original comment insinuated that Echo Base was already in play, therfor not needing to be purchased, therefor not contributing to the cost of the unit, because the listed stats

You forget the Echo Base enhancement. It counts as an additional Hoth Objective, thus adding another point of damage.

4 unit, 2 blast 5 damage capacity for 3 resources.

Was for the unit with Hoth Survival gear only, as that had been what the discussion was about.
